Honored to Be Named a 2025 Women in Power Honoree

I am humbled and deeply honored to be named a 2025 Women in Power honoree by the Mississippi Black Women’s Roundtable. This recognition means so much to me, especially coming from an organization that has long championed equity, justice, and opportunity for Black women and girls across Mississippi.

On Thursday, March 20, I stood alongside my colleagues, Representatives Timaka Lashson James-Jones, Tamarra G Washington, Dana McLean, and Senators Angela Turner Ford and Sarita Simmons - a powerful group of women leaders at the Capitol Club in Jackson as we are celebrated for our leadership, dedication, and the impact we continue to make in our communities. It is a moment of reflection and gratitude—a reminder that every policy we fight for, every voice we lift, and every door we open has the potential to transform lives.

Thank you to the Mississippi Black Women’s Roundtable for this incredible honor, and thank you to all those who support and inspire me on this journey. I share this recognition with every woman who has dared to lead, speak out, and serve with purpose.

Let’s keep doing the work. Our communities are worth it.
