I had the awesome opportunity to attend my 5th-grade teacher’s Fellowship closing ceremony on yesterday. She was one of about a dozen educators from across the state who participated in IEL’s Education Policy Fellowship Program, a 10-month-long professional development opportunity for leaders in education and related fields focused on policy, leadership, networking & equity!
I am super proud of her, and I am honored to have her in my life. She was one of those teachers who saw the potential in me very early on, and that’s so important for children. Teachers truly are the cornerstone of our community.
